    Queen of Pain

There's a little black spot on the sun today,
It's the same old thing as yesterday.
There's a black hat caught in a high tree top.
There's a flag pole rag and the wind won't stop.

I have stood here before inside the pouring rain,
with the world turning circles running round my brain.
I guess I'm always hoping that you'll end this reign.
But it's my destiny to be the king of pain.

There's a fossil thats trapped in a high cliff wall.
    That's my soul up there.
There's a dead salmon frozen in a waterfall.
    That's my soul up there.
There's a blue whale beached by a springtides ebb.
    That's my soul up there.
There's a butterfly trapped in a spiders web.
    That's my soul up there.

I have stood here before inside the pouring rain,
with the world turning circles running round my brain.
I guess I'm always hoping that you'll end this reign.
But it's my destiny to be the king of pain.

There's a king on a throne with his eyes torn out.
There's a blind man looking for a shadow of doubt.
Ther's a rich man sleeping on a golden bed.
There's a skeleton choking on a crust of bread.

    King of pain.

There's a red fox thorn by a huntsmans pack.
    That's my soul up there.
There's a black winged gull with a broken back.
    That's my soul up there.
There's a little black spot on the sun today.
It's the same old thing as yesterday.

I have stood here before inside the pouring rain,
with the world turning circles running round my brain.
I guess I'm always hoping that you'll end this reign.
But it's my destiny to be the king of pain.

    King of pain.
    King of pain.
    King of pain.
I'll always be king of pain.
I'll always be king of pain.
I'll always be king of pain.

King of Pain written by Sting.
Performed by The Police for their 1983 Synchronicity.

Ah I love the Police. I can't help belting out "Roxanne" whenever it comes on.

Don't worry about asking too many questions! =) She died trying to give herself an abortion after it was safe to do so. She ended up losing too much blood and died in the hospital. It's kind of depressing, really. I had a strange Revolutionary Road-esque dream the other night where I was married and my husband was really violent (he threw a brick at someone!). And we always hung out with this other married couple and it was just like everyone was having sex with the other's spouse. It was strange.

Thank you. It's still such a shock. I don't think it'll sink in until the funeral.
It was definitely an interesting film. If you can, I'd pick up the book too. I enjoyed the book greatly. I normally don't read anything I can find at an airport (and I'm pretty sure Revolutionary Road is on that list) but it was a nice read. Very traditionally written. I have the strangest dreams. Whenever I retell them to my sister she gawks at me and thinks I'm making it up. If only I could!
