My last "commie homo-loving suns-of-guns" post
Well I've come to a decision, I'm leaving Xanga. I've decided to stop blogging. I have met so many cool
people on Xanga and for that I am grateful but it just isn't fun anymore. I'm not having fun anymore.
To be honest blogging has become more of an obligation then a hobby and obviously that's not what I want.
What I want is to thank all the people who have and read my blog and left comments. I want to thank all
the people who gave my blog a second glance or chance and a big thanks to all the people who didn't. I
had alot of with Canga and I hope all of you continue to without me, hahaha, I'm sure you're struggle
greatly. But I want to leave on a very high note so I'll leave with these two beautiful, hopeful things.
The Academy Award for Best Actor goes to Sean Penn for his role in Milk as openly gay San Francisco city
supervisor Harvey Milk. And the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay goes to openly gay writer Dustin Lance Black for his
screenplay Milk.I PROMISE to come back and post pictures of both of them but there just wasn't time right now. EDIT: I didn't think it was g oing to be so hard to find two decent pictures of Dustin Lance Black and Sean Penn at the Oscars. I haven't given up though.
Personally, I think someone should give him an award his perfect and beautiful
acceptance speech. I can't even remember the last time I cried but when they said his and he gave his
little speech. But I ignored the dull burning sensation and kept blinking away the tears at the corners
of my eyes. I bit my bottom lip in an attempt to conceal the huge smile exploding inside me. Maybe it
wasn't or isn't that big of a deal but it was to me and it still is. I want to leave Xanga with Dustin
Lance Black's speech. Thanks again guys and a special bye to Dizbiz, Bittersweet Vengeance,
Creegansgal and Daniele, you guys rock. To everyone, good night and good luck.
Dustin Lance Black:
Oh my God. This was, um. This was not an easy film to make. First off, I have to thank Cleve Jones
and Anne Kronenberg and all the real-life people who shared their stories with me. And, um,
Gus Van Sant, Sean Penn, Emile Hirsch, Josh Brolin, James Franco, and our entire cast,
my producers, Dan Jinks and Bruce Cohen, everyone at Groundswell and Focus, for taking on the
challenge of telling this life-saving story. When I was 13 years old, my beautiful mother and
my father moved me from a conservative Mormon home in San Antonio, Texas to California and I
heard the story of Harvey Milk. And it gave me hope. It gave me the hope to live my life,
it gave me the hope to one day live my life openly as who I am and that maybe even I could fall
in love and one day get married.(He chokes up, audience begins to applaud.)
I want to thank my mom who has always loved me for who I am, even when there was pressure not to.
But most of all, if Harvey had not been taken from us 30 years ago, I think he’d want me to say
to all of the gay and lesbian kids out there tonight who have been told that they are less than
by their churches or by the government or by their families that you are beautiful, wonderful
creatures of value and that no matter what anyone tells you, God does love you and that very soon,
I promise you, you will have equal rights, federally, across this great nation of ours.(Wild applause from the audience.)
Thank you, thank you, and thank you God for giving us Harvey Milk.

Currently: Personal Velocity I don't even know why I still have this blog.....
On nights like this
When the world's a bit amiss.
And the lights go down.
Across the trailer park.
I get down, I feel had.
I feel on the verge of going mad.
And then it's time to punch the clock.I put on some make-up
And turn on the tape deck.
And pull the wig back on my head.
Suddenly I'm Miss Midwest Midnight Checkout Queen
Until I head home.
And I put myself to bed.I look back on where I'm from.
Look at the woman I've become.
And the strangest things seem suddenly routine.
I look up from my Vermouth on the rocks
The gift wrapped wig still in the box
Of towering velveteen.I put on some make-up
Some LaVern Baker.
I'm pulling the wig down from the shelf.
Suddenly I'm Miss Beehive 1963
Until I wake up.
And I turn back to myself. Some girls they have natural ease.
They wear it any way they please.
With their French flip curls
And perfumed magazines.
Wear it up, let it down.
This is the best way that I've found
To be the best you've ever seen.I put on some make-up,
Turn on the eight-tack.
I'm pulling the wig down from the shelf.
Suddenly I'm Miss Farrah Fawcett
From TV
Until I wake up.
And I turn back to myself.Shag, bi-level, bob
Dorothy Hamill do,
Sausage curl, chicken wings
It's all because of you
With your blow dried, feather backed
Toni home wave, too
Flip, for, frizz, flop
It's all because of you.Okay Everybody.
I put on some make-up
Turn up the eight track.
I'm pulling the wig down from the shelf.
Suddenly I'm this punk rock star
Of stage and screen
And I ain't never.
I'm never turning back.Wig In A Box written by Stephen Trask,
performed by Hedwig and The Angry Inch for
the film(2001) and musical(1998) Hedwig And The Angry Inch.

Currently: Alanis Unplugged Queen of Pain
There's a little black spot on the sun today,
It's the same old thing as yesterday.
There's a black hat caught in a high tree top.
There's a flag pole rag and the wind won't stop.I have stood here before inside the pouring rain,
with the world turning circles running round my brain.
I guess I'm always hoping that you'll end this reign.
But it's my destiny to be the king of pain. There's a fossil thats trapped in a high cliff wall.
That's my soul up there.
There's a dead salmon frozen in a waterfall.
That's my soul up there.
There's a blue whale beached by a springtides ebb.
That's my soul up there.
There's a butterfly trapped in a spiders web.
That's my soul up there.I have stood here before inside the pouring rain,
with the world turning circles running round my brain.
I guess I'm always hoping that you'll end this reign.
But it's my destiny to be the king of pain. There's a king on a throne with his eyes torn out.
There's a blind man looking for a shadow of doubt.
Ther's a rich man sleeping on a golden bed.
There's a skeleton choking on a crust of bread.King of pain.
There's a red fox thorn by a huntsmans pack.
That's my soul up there.
There's a black winged gull with a broken back.
That's my soul up there.
There's a little black spot on the sun today.
It's the same old thing as yesterday.I have stood here before inside the pouring rain,
with the world turning circles running round my brain.
I guess I'm always hoping that you'll end this reign.
But it's my destiny to be the king of pain.King of pain.
King of pain.

Okay, first off, I'm a little disappointed that I haven't seen many of the films nominated this year
yet, unlike last year when I saw three of the five films nominated for Best Picture(There Will Be Blood,
No Country For Old Men and Juno). I did see a little of Michael Clayton but George Clooney is just not my
cup of tea. As I'm sure everyone who has read my blog more then a couple times knows that I've been
following Milk pretty obsessively since pre-production and despite that I still haven't seen the film.
A few of the reasons being, getting to the theater isn't the easiest task in the world with my family,
it's about a gay politician, basicly meaning I'm the only one in my family who wants to see it,
and it's rated R. So obviously my parents are going to assume there is probably gay sex
everywhere and people doing drugs off each other and swearing and other "bad stuff" and that Milk
couldn't possibly be rated R for the simple fact that Harvey Milk was shot five times, including
twice in the head at close range. Basicly, it's been a battle to get my parents to let me and take me to
see it, but I haven't given up yet. Anyway. I'm so happy to see that Milk got so many nominations,
especially for Sean Penn and Josh Brolin. I figured Sean Penn would be nominated but you never really
know after seeing Sean Penn getting snubbed so many times. But Josh Brolin was kind of a surprise, a very
nice surprise. I hear his performance is chilling. As much as I would like to root for both of them
I really want Heath Ledger to win. As I wrote in my little review for The Dark Knight on this blog
Heath Ledger's performance was frightening, enthralling. He blows everyone else out of the water. But
my stance on Sean Penn is still the same, if he doesn't win you will hear from me. Now I do have a few
quick questions and comments before I end this post.1. Why in the world is Bolt nominated? I will be shocked if WALL-E does not win. I'm kind of surprised it
wasn't nominated for Best Picture.
2. I just want to send a little FUCK YOU to the academy for completely ignoring Revolutionary Road.
3. Where is The Dark Knight's nomination for Best Picture and Aaron Eckhart's nomination for Best supporting Actor?
4. I wish Anne Hathaway and Kate Winslet could both win.
5. Yay Danny Elfman! I know you're not going to win but I don't care!
And a couple quick shout outs. Where are the nominations for Sally Hawkins, Leonardo Dicaprio, David Cross,
Ralph Fiennes, and Bruce Springsten for his song "The Wrestler"? I think there are a few more I'm forgetting
but you know who you are!In the end these nominations don't surprise me. I'm both pleased and pissed off, just like last year.
So what do you think?
What is your opinion on the nominations? Who are you rooting for? Or did they forgot someone?

Currently: Fontanelle "Man hands on misery to man"
They fuck you up, your mum and dad.
They may not mean to, but they do.
They fill you with the faults they had
And add some extra, just for you.But they were fucked up in their turn
By fools in old-style hats and coats,
Who half the time were soppy-stern
And half at one another's throats.Man hands on misery to man.
It deepens like a coastal shelf.
Get out as early as you can,
And don't have any kids yourself
-Philip Larkin
